The Southwire 22977386 THHN 10 gauge building wire is a stranded type conductor available in green and measures 50 ft in length. It is primarily designed for use in conduit and cable trays for services, feeders, and branch circuits in commercial or industrial applications, compliant with the 2008 National Electrical Code. As Type THHN, this wire is suitable for dry locations at temperatures not exceeding 90 °C. As Type THWN-2, it is appropriate for both wet and dry locations with the same temperature limitation, and it can operate at 75 °C when exposed to oil. When used as Type MTW, it can withstand wet locations or oil exposure at temperatures up to 60 °C or 90 °C in dry conditions, with ampacity limited per NFPA 79. The conductor can reach temperatures of 105 °C in dry locations when rated AWM as appliance wiring material or when utilized as T90 nylon. All applications are rated for a voltage of 600 volts. Notably, this cable can be installed without the use of pulling lubricant. Furthermore, it meets or exceeds all relevant ASTM specifications, UL Standard 83, UL 1581, UL Standard 1063 (MTW), CSA, CUL, NOM-ANCE 90° C, Federal Specification A-A-59544, and is compliant with VW-1 for sizes 14 through 1 AWG, CT for sizes 1/0 AWG and larger, FT1 for sizes through 500 KCMIL, T90 nylon for sizes through 500 KCMIL, and TWN 75 for sizes through 500 KCMIL. It is RoHS compliant and sunlight resistant, with markings and listings in all colors for sizes 2 AWG and larger. The construction consists of annealed (soft) copper, unilay compressed strand, insulated with a durable heat and moisture resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and overlaid with a SIM (Slikqwik® infused membrane) nylon (polyamide) outer layer.
