The FFN 16 gauge building wire is a stranded type wire, available in orange, suitable for various applications including fixture wiring, machine tool wiring, or appliance wiring as specified in the 2008 National Electrical Code. When utilized as Type TFFN, the conductor can be employed at temperatures not exceeding 90°C. As Type MTW, it is suitable for use in wet locations or when exposed to oil or coolant at temperatures not to exceed 60°C, or in dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90°C, with ampacity limited to that for a 75°C conductor per NFPA 79. When rated AWM and used for appliance wiring material, conductor temperatures may reach up to 105°C in dry locations. The voltage rating for all applications is 600 volts. The Southwire Type TFFN, MTW, or AWM wire meets or exceeds UL standard 66 and complies with the requirements of the National Electrical Code, being RoHS compliant. The construction features annealed (soft) copper conductors, insulated with a tough, heat and moisture resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC), over which a nylon (polyamide) jacket is applied. This wire is available in multiple colors: black, white, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, brown, purple, gray, and pink, with some colors standard and others subject to economic order quantity. Additionally, it is oil and gasoline resistant LL as defined by Underwriters Laboratories.
