The Southwire 68581821 is a 10/2 AWG, THHN/THWN aluminum metal clad cable, featuring black, white, and green conductors, and measuring 25 feet in length. This ArmorLite® Type MC cable is designed for a variety of applications, including branch, feeder, and service power distribution in commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential buildings, as well as for power, lighting, control, and signal circuits. It can be utilized in both fished or embedded installations within plaster, as well as in concealed or exposed scenarios, and is compliant with NEC 300.22 (C) for environmental air-handling spaces, NEC 518.4 for places of assembly, and NEC 520.5 for theaters. The cable is also suitable for installation in cable trays and approved raceways, and can be used under raised floors for information technology equipment conductors and cables in accordance with NEC 645.5(D) & 645.5(D)(2). The cable is rated for hazardous locations, including Class I Div. 2, Class II Div. 2, and Class III Div. 1. Southwire ArmorLite® Type MC cable meets or exceeds various standards including UL Standard 83, UL Standard 1569 for Type MC, UL Standard 1685, and the National Electrical Code, and is recognized for use in UL 1, 2, and 3 hour through-penetration firestop systems. The construction involves soft-drawn copper Type THHN/THWN conductors rated at 90°C dry, available in sizes from 14 AWG to 2 AWG, along with a green insulated grounding conductor. The conductors are twisted together and wrapped with binder tape bearing the print legend, and are enclosed with aluminum interlocking armor.
