Southwire ArmorLite® Type MC cable, with a gauge of 14/2 AWG and available in black, white, and green aluminum, comes in a length of 100 ft. It is designed for various applications, including branch, feeder, and service power distribution in commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential buildings. The cable supports power, lighting, control, and signal circuits, and can be fished or embedded in plaster, as well as installed in concealed or exposed environments. It is suitable for environmental air-handling spaces in accordance with NEC 300.22 (C), placed in assembly areas per NEC 518.4, and theaters following NEC 520.5. Additionally, this cable meets the requirements for installation in cable trays and approved raceways, and is compliant with NEC 645.5(D) & 645.5(D)(2) for use under raised floors for information technology equipment conductors and cables. The cable is also rated for use in Class I Div. 2, Class II Div. 2, and Class III Div. 1 hazardous locations. Southwire ArmorLite® Type MC cable adheres to UL Standard 83, UL Standard 1569 for Type MC, UL Standard 1685, and Federal Specification A-A59544 (formerly J-C-30B). Both jacketed and non-jacketed versions pass UL tests and the FT4/IEEE 1202 (70,000 BTU/hr) vertical cable tray flame test, meeting National Electrical Code standards. It is listed for UL 1, 2, and 3 hour through-penetration firestop systems. The construction consists of soft-drawn copper conductors rated at 90°C dry, which are available in sizes from 14 AWG to 2 AWG, alongside a green insulated grounding conductor. The conductors are twisted together and wrapped with a binder tape that bears the print legend, and an aluminum interlocking armor is applied over the entire assembly.
