Southwire ArmorLite® type MC cable is a robust solution designed for branch, feeder, and service power distribution in various settings including commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential buildings. It is suitable for power, lighting, control, and signal circuits, whether fished or embedded in plaster, and can be installed in concealed or exposed locations as well as environmental air-handling spaces per NEC 300.22 (C). The cable is compliant with NEC standards for places of assembly, theaters, and is approved for installation in cable trays and raceways. The cable meets or exceeds UL Standard 83, UL Standard 1569, UL Standard 1685, and Federal Specification A-A59544, with both jacketed and non-jacketed options passing the UL test and the FT4/IEEE 1202 vertical cable tray flame test. It is also listed for use in 1, 2, and 3 hour through-penetration firestop systems. The construction features soft-drawn copper conductors rated at 90°C dry, available in sizes 14 AWG through 2 AWG, with a green insulated grounding conductor. The conductors are twisted together and wrapped with binder tape, while aluminum interlocking armor is applied over the assembly. The cable has an overall length of 100 ft and is color-coded according to a specific conductor color sequence.
