The drill features a flute length suitable for a variety of uses and a 135° split point that is self-centering, which reduces thrust and facilitates easier penetration; however, sizes under 0.0625 inches do not have split points. The black oxide finish enhances wear resistance and adds lubricity when working with ferrous materials. These drills are suitable for drilling in carbon steel, alloy steel, and cast iron.
