3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Ultra Fine Hand Pad 7448 measures 6" x 9" and features Silicon Carbide ULF Grit-60. This hand pad combines durability for long life and flexibility for reaching tight areas, making it an excellent alternative to steel wool for conditioning metal surfaces and paint preparation. Unlike fine steel wool, the Scotch-Brite pads do not shred, rust, or leave fine metal splinters during use. The pad boasts a durable open-web construction that is load resistant, offering long life and consistent abrasive action for cleaning, finishing, and buffing without the need for adjustment or replacement. It effectively gets into corners and works on detailed surfaces without altering the dimensions of the base material. Designed for cleanliness and longevity compared to steel wool, this versatile pad can be used immediately by hand, paired with a hand pad block, or employed on an in-line sander for efficient completion on larger areas. The grey pad is filled with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, which is sharp and suitable for low-pressure applications like paint preparation. Although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it yields a superior finish. The product is compliant with relevant industry standards.
