The prefilled 2ml tubes are designed to contain a specific amount of 1.5mm diameter zirconium (ceramic) beads, specifically for bead homogenization. These tubes are ready to use, as the beads have been acid washed and heat treated, and are certified to be nuclease and protease free. The filling process is validated by qPCR to ensure the tubes are free of stray DNA. They are suitable for the homogenization of soft tissue such as liver and small insects and are supplied in packs of 50 tubes. Additionally, these tubes are compatible with most bead homogenizers, including the BeadBug 3, BeadBug 6, and BeadBlaster 24.
