Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Then, choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by identifying a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power: "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, and the addition of terminals for "remote start terminals" if activation from an external switch is needed. The features of the starters include a 9A rating, three-phase operation, direct online capability, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
