Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, begin by verifying the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you plan to use, confirming whether you have 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to operate the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that covers the FLA determined earlier. The options available include direct-online starters that use line power for control, separate control voltage starters that utilize different voltages for line and control, and remote start terminals for activation from an external switch. The specific model features a 16A 1-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, and operates on a 100-250V AC/DC coil with a 7.6-10A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
