Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, refer to the equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage and determine if the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, select the control power for closing the contactor and choose the overload settings by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA from the initial check. Optional criteria include selecting the type of incoming power: for a direct-online starter, line power is used for control, while a separate control voltage indicates that it differs from line power. For activation via an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, with options for same voltage or separate control voltage configurations.
