Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters feature a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) based on the input voltage and confirm if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter that is rated for current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA, select the control power used to close the contactor, and pick the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power: a "Direct-On-Line Starter" uses line power as control power, while "Separate Control Voltage" is used if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If external activation is needed, the starter can be configured with "Remote Start Terminals"; when combined with differing line and control voltages, it is designated as "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals." Key features of the motor starter include 9A three-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload of 4.2-5.7A, all enclosed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate housing.
