Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring you confirm the power phase is either 1-phase or 3-phase. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The next step is selecting the control power for closing the contactor, followed by choosing the overload using a current range that encompasses the FLA determined earlier. Additional options include defining the incoming power: for direct-online starters, line power is also the control power; for separate control voltage, the control voltage differs from the line voltage; and for starters needing activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. If remote start terminals are required while using different line and control voltages, this is designated as separate control voltage with remote start terminals. Key features include a 9A 3-phase separate coil voltage start/stop with a 250-500V AC/DC coil and an overload rating of 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
