Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Additional selection criteria include determining whether the incoming power will be used as the control power, which defines it as a "direct-online starter," or if a separate control voltage is required. If the starter needs to be activated from an external switch, terminals can be added for that purpose, referred to as "remote start terminals." In case different voltages for line and control power are used, it is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 9A rating, 3-phase operation, direct online configuration, start/stop function, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload current range of 1.7-2.3A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
