Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, and determine whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power for closing the contactor, and choose an overload with a current range that includes the FLA from the previous step. Options for incoming power include a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used for control, "separate control voltage" if different, and "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. Additional configurations such as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" are available if different voltages are used. Key features of the motor starters include 9A 3-phase remote start terminals for start/stop operations, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 4.2-5.7A overload relay, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
