Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor's nameplate, taking into account whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with the overload based on a current range that includes the FLA from the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" uses the line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates different voltages are used. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" are included to accept the control power input, which assumes the line and control voltages are the same unless specified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 9A, 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, and a 250-500V AC/DC coil with a 2.3-3.1A overload.
