Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Select a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor, choose the control power used to close the contactor, and select the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA from step 1. The starter options can be narrowed down based on incoming power requirements, such as direct-online starter if line power is also used for control, or separate control voltage if different voltages are employed. Additional features include 9A 3-phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, start/stop capability, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload protection range of 1.7-2.3A.
