Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60hp or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA and determine the control power for closing the contactor. Next, select the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA. Additionally, you can choose based on optional criteria such as incoming power, which can be a direct-online starter if the line power also serves as control power, or a separate control voltage if the values differ. If remote activation is needed, terminals can be added for external switch input, which assumes line and control voltage are the same unless specified as separate control voltage with remote start terminals. Features include 9A three-phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
