Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring the power type is either 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA and select the control power for closing the contactor. The overload must be chosen from a current range that includes the FLA determined earlier. For additional selection criteria, the incoming power can either use line power as control (referred to as a "direct-online starter") or have a separate control voltage. If the starter is activated by an external switch, additional terminals for control power input are included, referred to as "remote start terminals." The starter features 9A 3-phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 1.7-2.3A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
