Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for use with motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, and the overload should be chosen by selecting a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power: "direct-on-line starter" if line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if control voltage differs from line voltage, and the addition of "remote start terminals" if activation from an external switch is needed. The features of the starter include a 9A 3-phase direct online start/stop capability and a 100-250V AC/DC coil with a 4.2-5.7A overload relay.
