Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter consists of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage on the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring you identify whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power for closing the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA from the initial step. Depending on your criteria, you can opt for direct-online starters, separate control voltage configurations, or include remote start terminals for activation from an external switch. The features of the starter include a 9A three-phase separate control voltage system with remote start terminals, a start/stop 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated between 2.3-3.1A, encapsulated in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate housing.
