Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. When selecting a starter, it is important to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. The starter should be rated for a current higher than the FLA. Additionally, the control power for closing the contactor must be chosen, followed by selecting an overload current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. The starter options can be refined based on the incoming power: "direct-online starter" if line power is the control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs, and "remote start terminals" in cases where activation comes from an external switch. The product features include a 9A 3-phase separate coil voltage for start/stop operations, a coil operating range of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay rating of 2.3-3.1A, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
