Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To determine the appropriate starter, one must verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. The selected starter must be rated for current (amps) exceeding the FLA. Additionally, the control power used to close the contactor must be chosen, and the overload must correspond to a current range that encompasses the FLA. The options for incoming power include direct-online starters or separate control voltage configurations, with the possibility of adding remote start terminals for external switch activation. Key features of the motor starter include a 9A 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, and a coil range of 250-500V AC/DC with an overload current rating of 1.7-2.3A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
