Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for use with motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to determine the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to check if the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is important to choose a starter with a current rating higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power to engage the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power; for instance, a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, whereas a "separate control voltage" utilizes a different control voltage. If activation from an external switch is needed, terminals for remote start can be added, which can be configured for the same voltage or different voltages for line and control. The starter features include a 9A 3-phase separate coil voltage with a reset button, a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload range of 2.3-3.1A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
