Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select a starter, start by verifying the full load amperage (FLA) of the motor or equipment from the nameplate, ensuring to check if it operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power, and choose a starter rated for amps higher than the FLA. Additionally, determine the control power required to close the contactor and select an overload relay from a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power configurations, where a direct-online starter uses line power as control power, and separate control voltage is used when the control voltage differs from line voltage. Remote start terminals can be added for external switch activation. This specific motor starter features 9A, operates on 3-phase power, has a separate coil voltage, includes a reset button, and is compatible with a 100-250V AC/DC coil alongside a 7.6-10A overload relay. It is designed to meet NEMA 4X standards for environmental protection.
