Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage specified on the motor or equipment nameplate and determine whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Select a starter that has a current rating exceeding the FLA of the motor, choose the control power necessary to close the contactor, and select an overload relay that accommodates the motor's FLA. Additionally, optional criteria may include the type of incoming power: a direct-online starter if the line power is also used as the control power, or a separate control voltage if different voltages are utilized. For external switch activation, starters can be equipped with remote start terminals, assuming the same line and control voltage; if different, the setup is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the starter include a 9A 3-phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated for 1.7-2.3A, all within a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
