Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. The selection process for the proper starter involves verifying the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase, and choosing a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. Additionally, the control power to close the contactor and the overload current range, which should encompass the motor's FLA, must be selected. The starter can be configured based on incoming power—either as a "direct-online starter," "separate control voltage," or with "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. Key features of the system include a 9A 3-phase direct online reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and overload protection rated at 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
