Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power—either a "direct-online starter" where line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs. For activation from an external switch, terminals for control power input can be added, referred to as "remote start terminals." Specifications include a current rating of 9A, three phases, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button only, a coil voltage of 24-60V AC/DC, and an overload range of 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
