Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supply voltage, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the motor's FLA, select the control power used to close the contactor, and pick an overload relay that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. Options for selection include determining the incoming power, which can be a direct online starter if the line power also serves as control power, or a separate control voltage if not. If an external switch activates the starter, remote start terminals can be included. The starter features a rating of 9A, operates in 3-phase, offers a separate coil voltage, includes a reset button only, supports a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and features an overload of 2.3-3.1A.
