Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you will supply, and confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. For the overload, select a current range that encompasses the FLA determined in the first step. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power options such as a "direct-online starter" if the line power is used as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. Additionally, starters can be equipped with remote start terminals for activation from an external switch, assuming the line voltage and control voltage are the same. For configurations requiring both different voltages for line and control power, the option of "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" is available. Key features include a 9A 1-phase separate coil voltage and remote start terminals, with a start/stop capability using a 100-250V AC/DC coil and an overload rating of 4.2-5.7A in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
