Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen to encompass the FLA from the first step. Options include "direct-online starter" for using line power as control power, "separate control voltage" for different control and line voltages, and "remote start terminals" if the starter is activated from an external switch. Key features of the starter include a 9A 1-phase separate control voltage reset button, a coil rating of 24-60V AC/DC, and an overload protection range of 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
