Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters feature a contactor, overload relay, and come housed in a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To ensure proper selection of a starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage to be supplied, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to activate the contactor must also be chosen, followed by the overload settings based on a current range that includes the motor’s FLA. The selection can be further refined based on optional criteria including incoming power considerations: a "direct-online starter" uses the line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates that the control voltage differs from the line voltage; if an external switch activates the starter, it can include "remote start terminals," assuming the line and control voltages are the same. If different voltages are used for line and control power with remote start terminals, it is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 9A 1-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and 3.1-4.2A overload, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
