Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined, along with the selection of the overload current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, such as direct-online starter configurations or those requiring separate control voltage. If activation is needed from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. The motor starters feature 9A capacity for 1-phase operation, remote start terminals for start/stop control, a coil voltage rating of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload current range of 2.3-3.1A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
