Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, you should first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Then, select the control power used to close the contactor, followed by choosing the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA. Additional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration: if the line power will also be used as the control power, it is characterized as a "direct-online starter," while a differing control voltage classifies as "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, you can add terminals for remote start, and this can be specified for cases where the line and control voltages are different. The specific features of this product include a 9A 1-phase separate control voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a 24-60V AC/DC coil with an overload rating of 3.1-4.2A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
