Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the motor's full load amperage (FLA) from the nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to identify if it operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated at a current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power to close the contactor must also be selected, along with an overload current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used for control, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For external switch activation, "remote start terminals" can be added, which assumes matching line and control voltages, or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" for differing voltages. Key features of this specific starter include a 9A 1-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated between 2.3-3.1A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
