Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, select the control power used to close the contactor, and then select the overload by choosing a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a direct-online starter uses line power as control power; separate control voltage indicates the control voltage differs from line voltage; and remote start terminals allow activation from an external switch. Key features include a 9A 1-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10A overload relay, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
