Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters that support up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) based on the input voltage, ensuring the distinction between 1-phase and 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for higher current than the FLA and select the control power used to close the contactor, alongside the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power; a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates different voltages. For activation from an external switch, the option of "remote start terminals" is available, which is assumed to have the same line and control voltage. If line and control voltages differ, the configuration would be "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features of the starter include a 9A 1-phase remote start terminal, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 1.7-2.3A, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
