Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage being supplied, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. Additionally, choose the overload by selecting a current range that accommodates the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include the incoming power configuration, where if the line power is utilized as the control power, it is classified as a "direct-online starter." If the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is termed "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, terminals are added for control power input, known as "remote start terminals." In the case of differing line and control voltages, the configuration is labeled as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 9A 1-phase separate control voltage reset button, a coil rated for 24-60V AC/DC, and an overload range of 3.1-4.2A, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
