Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor should be selected, as well as the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include incoming power configurations: a "direct-online starter" if the line power also serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if different voltages are used. For external activation from a switch, remote start terminals can be added, which is applicable when the line and control voltages are the same; otherwise, it is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Notable features encompass a 9A 1-phase separate coil voltage reset button, a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload range of 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
