Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to identify if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power for closing the contactor and choose an overload with a current range that includes the FLA. The starter can be configured based on incoming power: a direct-online starter uses line power for control, while a separate control voltage indicates a different control and line voltage. Remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch, which assumes line and control voltages are the same. If different voltages are used, a separate control voltage with remote start terminals can be configured. The key features include a 12A 3-phase separate control voltage start/stop capability, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 10-13A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
