Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, start by referring to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply and confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, followed by selecting the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Additional options include incoming power configuration: if the line power is used as the control power, this is termed a "direct-online starter." For a separate control voltage or external switch activation through control terminals, either remote start terminals can be added or a configuration of "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" can be selected. Key features of the motor starters include a 12A rating, three-phase operation, a separate coil voltage option, and start/stop capability with a 250-500V AC/DC coil along with a 3.1-4.2A overload. The starters are housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure, ensuring durability and protection.
