Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage, ensuring to check whether it's single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) above the FLA. The control power for engaging the contactor must also be selected. The overload should be chosen within a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Additional options include the choice of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" for the same line and control voltage, "separate control voltage" for differing voltages, and "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch.
