Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Depending on the incoming power, you can have a "direct-online starter" if the line power also serves as the control power, or opt for "separate control voltage" if the line voltage differs from the control voltage. For activation from an external switch, the starter can be equipped with "remote start terminals." The key features include 12A three-phase remote start terminals for start/stop operations, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, a 4.2-5.7A overload relay, and compliance with NEMA 4X polycarbonate standards.
