Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the specified input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power used to close the contactor and the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. The selection process may also involve considerations such as incoming power types: "direct-online starter" for same line and control voltage, "separate control voltage" for differing voltages, and options for "remote start terminals" if an external switch is used.
