Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the motor's FLA, select the control power for closing the contactor, and determine the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. The starter can be customized based on various criteria including the type of incoming power: if the line power serves as the control power, it is classified as a "direct-online starter"; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is referred to as "separate control voltage"; and for activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" may be added. The specific features of the product include a 12 A 3-phase separate coil voltage along with remote start terminals, capable of start/stop functionality with a 100-250 V AC/DC coil and an overload rating of 5.7-7.6 A.
