Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate for the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power for the contactor. The overload must be chosen based on a current range that includes the FLA identified previously. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations: a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used as control power; "separate control voltage" if different voltages are utilized; and "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch, assuming the line and control voltages are the same. Additionally, if different voltages are employed for line and control power with remote start capabilities, it is categorized as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The key features of the starter include a rating of 12A, compatibility with 3-phase setups, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, with an overload relay rating of 2.3-3.1A.
