Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select a starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter," "separate control voltage," or the inclusion of "remote start terminals" if activation from an external switch is required. The featured attributes of the motor starter include 12A rating, three-phase capability, remote start terminals, reset button only, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 10-13A overload protection, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
