Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm the power type (single-phase or three-phase). Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor and determine the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be selected based on a current range that includes the FLA from the initial assessment. Options include selecting incoming power as either a "direct-online starter" where the line power is also the control power, or "separate control voltage" if different voltages are used. Additional configurations can include "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch, and if using different voltages for line and control power, the setup is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starter include a 12A three-phase direct online reset button only, a coil operating range of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
