Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage being supplied, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Additionally, users must decide on the control power for the contactor and select an overload that includes the FLA. Further options include selecting incoming power types: "direct-online starter" if line power is also used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if different. For external activation, the option for "remote start terminals" is available, with consideration for different voltages.
