Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor nameplate at the input voltage, considering whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter that is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, and select the control power for the contactor. The overload should be chosen from a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Additionally, the selection process involves determining the incoming power: options include a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used for control, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, or configurations with "remote start terminals" for activation via an external switch. The features of the specific starter model include a 12A 3-phase operation, separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC with an overload relay rated at 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
